Yes, it contains caffeine from Guarana Extract, which tends to feel more mild than that of coffee or caffeine anhydrous. If you take the full 5 capsules, it contains 88mg of caffeine – less than a cup of coffee. Each capsule will contain about 18mg of caffeine, so 3 would be similar to a cup of tea. Most have no trouble sleeping after taking it before a night class. If you are very sensitive to caffeine, you may want to start with 3 to see how your body responds.

I tried Matfuel for the first time today for open mat this morning. I’ll admit I was very skeptical at first. After taking 4 at 8:30 this morning my mind has completely changed about it. Within the first 20 minutes I was feeling very pumped up and just motivated to roll(I’d imagine that’s the caffeine kicking in right away). After my first flow roll, I got to the point where I felt warmed up, but it took another 3 live rolls with a blue belt, heavier black belt, and a brown belt for me to actually start feeling any sort of real tired feeling. And normally I’d have been taking a couple minute break after my 2nd or 3rd roll.
